NB! The original pattern seems to be written in UK crochet terms. Where double crochet is single crochet in USA terms, for example. The original pattern can be found here: CoatsCrafts Bunny Serviette Pattern

I crocheted this bunny, you can see in the photos here, using half double crochet stitch in USA terms (half treble in UK terms).

The original pattern says to use double crochet in UK terms, which means single crochet in USA terms.

So, it's up to you!

In USA terms: you can crochet this bunny in single crochet stitch (as I did) or half double crochet stitch (as original pattern).

If you use a small enough crochet hook for the yarn, then the bunny will be tense enough! As that's what you want. You don't want the stuffing to show through.

Here's the free crochet Easter pattern: Bunny Serviette for you. I've changed it into USA terms.

NB! Work in rounds. I did work in rounds for the whole bunny, and I used a stitch marker.

BODY

Crochet 20 ch and close to ring with 1 slst.

Work in rounds (rnd) of 1 ch and 20 sc each. When body measures 6 inches (15 cm.), finish work.

HEAD

Crochet 2 ch then work 8 sc in the 1st ch. Work in rnds, as follows:

[My TIP: Instead start with magic ring, as is suitable for amigrumi. And make those first eight sc into the magic ring.]

Rnd 2: Increase (inc) 8 sc, evenly spaced = 16 sc.

Rnd 3: Inc 4 sc = 20 sc.

Rnd 4: 20 sc.

Rnd 5: Inc 4 sc = 24 sc.

Rnd 6: 24 sc.

Rnd 7: Inc 4 sc = 28 sc.

Rnd 8: 28 sc.

Rnd 9: Inc 4 sc = 32 sc.

Rnds 10 – 13: 32 sc.

Rnd 14: Decrease (dec) 4 sc, evenly spaced = 28 sc. Rnd 15: 28 sc.

Rnd 16: Dec 4 sc = 24 sc. (stuff the head while you work)

Rnd 17: 24 sc.

Rnd 18: Dec 4 sc = 20 sc.

Rnd 19: Dec 4 sc = 16 sc.

Rnd 20: Dec 8 sc = 8 sc. The head is now finished.

EAR (make 2)

Crochet 2 ch then work 8 sc in the 1st ch.

[My TIP for this free crochet Easter pattern again: Instead start with magic ring. Make those first eight sc into the magic ring.]

Work in rnds, as follows:

Rnds 2 + 3: Inc 2 sc, evenly spaced = 12 sc.

Rnd 4: 12 sc.

Rnd 5: Inc 2 sc = 14 sc.

Rnds 6 – 13: 14 sc.

Rnd 14: Dec 2 sc = 12 sc.

Rnds 15 – 20: 12 sc.

Rnd 21: Dec 2 sc = 10 sc.

Rnds 22 –24: 10 sc. The ear is now finished.

Sew the head over the seam between the body ends.

Stuff the paws. Sew the paws, tail, and ears to the head and body, as shown. Sew the 2 beads to the head, as eyes.

Use pink, or orange, or red yarn to embroider the nose with satin stitch. If you like, you could lightly draw the cheeks with pink crayon.

For the bow. You can tie the ribbon in a bow, and sew it in place. Or you can tie the ribbon around the bunny's neck as I did for the bunny in the photo.

Then sew the crocheted flower in place as shown. Sew the bead to the center of the flower.

My TIP: If you stuffed the bunny too much, you can remove the excess stuffing with crochet hook.
